Zinedine Zidane faced the media shortly after our 1-0 defeat to Levante on Saturday night. Our head coach spoke about the result, provided some news on Hazard’s ankle injury, and the upcoming Clásico.

Here’s a transcript of the press conference:

“We feel bad after creating chances for a goal in the first half and that was all we lacked. We got into their half a lot and had chances, but we did not get a goal, which is the most important thing. After the break, they came at us and got a goal. We went from good to not so good. After the break, we struggled. They made one real attempt and scored a goal, that is the reality. We know we can move forward and we need the energy of the whole squad to do that. We’re annoyed because we did not get the win, but we have a game in three days so we need to focus on that. Next week we are going to put it all on the line so we need to build on the good stuff we’ve done so far.

“This is football and these things happen. We’ve had some good moments during the season and the last two games are two very negative results. We must not let our heads go down and we must keep going and look to get through this with strength, courage and energy. We have to accept it and think about this week as we are playing for everything.”

HAZARD’S INJURY

“It doesn’t look good because he’s hurt where he was injured before. It’s a blow, but let’s see what happens. He’s in pain now and we’ll see tomorrow, we’ll do some more tests.”

EL CLÁSICO

“After these two games in which we’ve dropped 5 points, we know that we have to win the home game. We will do our best, but first we have a game on Wednesday. We know the importance of both games and we have to try to win.”
