Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is taking a 20-man travelling squad to Italy to take on AS Roma at the Stadio Olimpico. The match kicks-off at 20:00 CEST and is our last pre-season outing in preparations for the start of the new LaLiga season, which starts next weekend against Celta Vigo.

Gareth Bale, who did not feature in the Audi Cup and in the penultimate pre-season match against Salzburg, returns to the squad.

Mariano has been left out for the second consecutive match, as he didn’t make the trip to Austria either. He got his first minutes of action this summer in the Audi Cup and netted a goal against Fenerbahce, but his future is still undecided and he doesn’t look to be part of Zidane’s plans.

James Rodriguez has also been left out of the squad and he’s another player who the French coach doesn’t count on, but his future remains undecided.

Sergio Ramos has been sidelined with an injury in training and will not make the trip to Italy, as he looks to get fit in time for the LaLiga opener against Celta next weekend.

Despite not featuring for Castilla last night, Takefusa Kubo and Rodrygo Goes have both been left out as well.

Brahim Diaz and Ferland Mendy continue their recoveries and will stay in Madrid.
