Real Madrid stars have returned to Valdebebas this morning to undergo coronavirus testing.
This is after lockdown measures in Spain were relaxed meaning teams could slowly return to training.
But before that can happen, the governing body requires all teams to ensure their staff are risk-free.
Spanish league president Javier Tebas made this statement yesterday:
“People’s health is paramount. We have a comprehensive protocol to safeguard the health of everyone involved as we work to restart La Liga. Circumstances are unprecedented, but we hope to start playing again in June and finish our 2019-20 season this summer.”
Although there is no official resumption date, the plan right now is that training resumes and matches begin in June, behind closed doors.
Real expect to return to training this week, or early next week.
