Real Madrid have announced changes to the structure of their sports organisation chart.

The club released an official statement saying:

“With a view to fostering the development of our on-field activities and retaining our position as leaders, Real Madrid C. F. has decided to strengthen the club’s football department with the appointment of Ramón Martínez as deputy director general.

To cover the vacancy left by Martínez, Manuel Fernández Gómez, who up until now has served as the coach of our Juvenil B team, has been named as the head of football. In this new role, Fernández will oversee the football academy and be responsible for the national scouting, technical, football administration and training methodology departments.

Juni Calafat, who will report directly to the director general, will continue in his role as chief scout.”

The changes might not end there.

Reports in Spain have suggested Madrid’s Juvenil A coach Dani Poyatos has an offer on the table from Greek outfit Panathinaikos. If he accepts the role, it would mean a further change within La Fabrica.
