Ajax Amsterdam have accepted an offer from Real Madrid for Donny van de Beek, according to Esporte Interativo’s journalist Marcelo Bechler.
The 22-year-old Dutch midfielder has already agreed a contract with Real Madrid, per that same report, and will sign a 5-6 year contract in the coming days for a price around €50-60 millions.
The Dutch midfielder enjoyed a stellar campaign last season, scoring 17 goals and providing 13 assists in 57 appearances, having a major role in his side’s domestic double and in the brilliant run until the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.
Paul Pogba has been strongly linked with a move to the Bernabéu throughout the summer and Zinedine Zidane is still desperate to land him, but Manchester United’s asking price for the Frenchman, which stands at €180 million, makes a deal very complicated, leaving the door open for the club’s plan “B”, which is Van de Beek.
If the reports are accurate, and Los Blancos lure the Dutch international, a deal with Manchester United for Paul Pogba seems very unlikely.
