Sergio Ramos spoke to the media at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan after Real Madrid’s huge 0-1 win over Sevilla. The Captain stated that the Whites are always hungry and have a desire to win, despite things not always going their way, but the mentality always remains optimistic.
“We knew the difficulty of the game. It is one of the most difficult stadiums to visit in the league and the team had not won here for years and we came with a very strong mentality. It was a game of small details, the team looked very compact defensively and we took advantage of it. We were very tidy, Sevilla play with a lot of depth and we knew how to cover well. We achieved our objective, which was to pick up the three points.”
“Real Madrid are always hungry and have a desire to win. Things don’t always work out the way you want but we’re a very optimistic team with the mentality of continuing to improve. The team is getting better and we will try to keep pushing on. This season is very long, we are tied on points with Athletic Club and now we must continue picking up three points and taking advantage of the chances as we have done today.”
400 WINS FOR HIM AT REAL MADRID
“It’s an individual statistic. In the end one always looks at the collective, but small individual details also make a difference. I’m proud to represent and lead this group after so many years and to record 400 wins is very nice. Who would have said when I was little that I was going to reach so many games and victories with this team. Now we have to continue, I hope I can get a lot more.”
“When Zidane talks about intensity, he talks about those individual duels that have to be won, about that desire that sometimes for small details don’t always seem so important, but ultimately the team has come here wanting to pick up all three points and it’s a fair result.”
