Real Madrid have announced that they reached an agreement with Atlético Madrid over the sale of Marcos Llorente. The 24-year-old midfielder has signed a five-year deal for a reported fee of €40 million.
After rising through the club’s youth ranks, he made his senior debut in October 2015, before joining Alavés on loan for the 2016/17 campaign.
He failed to establish himself in the 2017/18 season, with his opportunities being limited by Zidane. It seemed as Llorente was ready to become one of the future leaders of Los Blancos in 2018/19, especially back in December, when Santiago Solari was the head coach, but Zidane does not seem to count on him, not in his first spell and not in his second either.
He will now most likely get his much desired and deserved match-time, with the departure of Rodri, who confirmed his intention to leave the Wanda Metropolitano.
Thank you Marcos, and best of luck in the future!
