Has Martin Ødegaard hinted at his intentions of staying at Real Sociedad next season?
It is still unknown whether he’ll be part of Real Madrid’s 2020-21 squad, or if he’ll remain in San Sebastian. But the Norwegian, who is currently on a two-season loan at La Real, sat down to answer some questions on a variety of topics:
How has life been during the lockdown?
“It has been a bit difficult and long, given that my family was in Norway and I am here alone, but there are people who had it much worse. Overall, I am doing well and my family is well.”
On returning to training?
“So far, we have very good feelings. It has been a little strange training in small groups, but now we are training as a full team and that makes things much easier and better for training. Physically, I feel strong, but we obviously lack game rhythm. We have been training really hard; first at home, then in small groups, and now we just lack the continuity that comes from playing games”
On fighting to secure UEFA Champions League football:
“We are where we want to be, within reach of the Champions League, and that’s what we all want. It is going to be difficult to take something off of Madrid or Barcelona, but with the rest I think we can do things well to try and finish third or fourth. it is a dream for any footballer in the world to play in the Champions League and it is what we want to do for next season.”
On being without fans in the Reale Arena when La Liga returns?
“It is going to be very strange without our fans because they are very important for us, they always support us and it makes it very nice to play at home, but there is nothing we can do. We have to continue and win for them.”
