Real Madrid defender Alvaro Odriozola has completed a loan move to Bayern Munich for the remainder of the 2019/20 season.
Since completing a transfer from Real Sociedad to Madrid in July 2018, Odriozola made 27 appearances across all competitions and scored a goal.
The 24 years old defender made his Real Madrid debut on 22 September, playing the full 90 minutes in a 1-0 win over Espanyol in LaLiga. His first and only goal for Los Blancos came in a 4-0 Copa del Rey win away against UD Melilla.
The Spaniard amassed 22 appearances in his first season in the capital but has struggled for game-time this season, which caused the player to consider his future at the club. This season, the right-back only made a total of 5 outings, and has been left out of the matchday squad on 17 occasions out of a possible 28.
His future is uncertain at Real Madrid, with Achraf Hakimi being rumoured to be in Zinedine Zidane’s plans for the 2020/21 season, leaving no room for Odriozola to establish himself and play any considerable minutes.
We wish Alvaro good luck for his loan spell at Bayern!
